Doyle Wayne Faulks, 66, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11 am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Slaton. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Wayne was born June 29, 1959, to the late Frank McKinney and Charlene Gipson in Lubbock, TX. Later the family moved to Idable, OK, then to Texarkana, TX, where Wayne attended Texarkana Public Schools, after high school Wayne moved back to Lubbock, had one daughter by a previous marriage – Surquest S. Faulks. Wayne worked for UMC many years and met his wife Cora Trotty married on April 9, 1994.
Wayne also worked for Covenant Hospital for over 10 years. A short time at Lubbock State School and Home Health until his Health failed him, he then retired.Wayne was called into the ministry in 1998 where he was under the leadership of Rev. C. C. Peoples then later joined Greater Works Church where he served under the leadership of Billy R. Moore until his death.Wayne loved to talk to whoever he could about the Lord, the grocery store outside in the yard, visiting family, he would talk about the Lord. Wayne had a strong passion for the Lord. Wayne would talk for hours about the Lord, you would laterly have to stop him and let him know you had to go.
Wayne is preceded in death by his mother Charlene Dewberry, his father Frank McKinney, two sisters Sherry Tucker and Debra Faulks, three brothers Thomas Faulks, Larry Faulks, and Doug Faulks, grandson Christian Trotty, one great niece, mother-in-law Gay Johnson, and sister-in-law Brenda Trotty.
Wayne is survived by his wife Cora Trotty Faulks, his daughters Surquest Faulks, and Keanndra Kendrick (Joshua), his son Kedrick Trotty Sr. (Cristy), his sisters Ann Faulks and Linda Roddy, his grandchildren Kealey Trotty, Kynedi Trotty, Kylea Trotty, Crisslynn Trotty, Kedrick Trotty Jr., and Kyah Kendrick, 28 nieces, 22 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
