Donald Ray Hicks, 67, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Visitations will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary and celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Donald Ray Hicks was born to Arthur Hick and Louise Hicks Lee. Donald Ray Hicks attended Roosevelt School after completing his education, he worked for U.M.C., he lived with his mother to help with her care. Donald Ray was love by many. He loves making people laugh and had a smile that shined across the nation. He really loved candy, chicken, and soda. He liked his nurses at Heritage Oaks, and they loved him as well. They were always buying him chips, candy, and soda. He really loved his family. Latoya Bass was really a good and loving friend to Donald at Heritage Oaks. He trusted her daily. He loved her as a friend.

Donald Ray is preceded in death by his son Donald Ray, grandparents Mifford Hannon, and Amie Mae Hannon, father Arthur Hicks, mother Louise Hicks Lee, brother Arthur Hicks and Charles Hicks, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Donald Ray leaves to cherish his memory; his sons Ricky Sheppard, Gerald Humphrey, Isaac Hicks (Shetedria), and Danny Wayne Parker, his two sisters Mary Tatum and Ann Goodson (Ray), and a host of other relatives and friends.
