Deven L. Peppers, known to many as “Too Aktive or Texas” passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 28. Born in Lubbock Texas, Deven was a loving husband, devoted father, amazing son, proud brother, fun Uncle, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. From a young age, Deven showed fearless determination; whether it was riding a big kid’s bike without training wheels at the age of four, running off to the park with a basketball bigger than him, or doing backflips off rooftops just to prove he could. He lived boldly and pushed boundaries, proving that size and struggles couldn’t stop greatness.
At 12 yrs old, he moved to Colorado Springs, where he continued to inspire others with his energy. After graduating, Deven’s life took on even greater meaning with the birth of his beautiful daughter Nayely Peppers in 2016. Becoming a father grounded him, and everything he did from that point forward was driven by love for her and the life he wanted to build. His passion for music never faded; he stayed dedicated to his dreams while uplifting everyone around him. He believed in helping others win, always encouraging family and friends to keep going, no matter what life threw their way.
Before leaving this world, Deven made a complete 360 in his life; focused, growing, and walking a path that made his family and friends incredibly proud. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Russell and Mary Elliott. His paternal great grandfather Calvin Tucker. Paternal Great great grandmother Imer Brooks.
He is survived by his loving wife Shauntece, his beautiful daughter Nayely, and His granny Arnette Tucker, who meant the world to him. He leaves behind both of his parents, his mama Melissa Freeman and his pops Andre Peppers Sr. His mother in law Laurie Hadley and father in law Evangelo Hogan. His paternal grandmother Lori Peppers. A plethora of siblings who adored him which includes his sisters, Alexis, Brittany, Dyamond, Azane, Spiritual, Natavain, Skyhl, Willow and Cora. His brothers Andre’ Jr , Samuel, Malachi, KyVondre’, Aaron, ShaiKeam, Jakeevian, LaMarion, Dre’, DeAndre’, Andre’ II, Azarius, D’Von, and Tony. His beautiful nieces Xai’lynn, Aurora, Saviyah, Sidnee, Nikki, Laniyah, Rhionnie, Solana,Xy’ani, Rose and Ayanna. His handsome nephews Le’Vion, Bray’den, Ja’Cion, Jhuntae, Za’khi, Princeton, Khalid, Prestege, Dre’stein, Kaceyon, Julian, Derek, and Tristan, Who looked up to him as more than just “Uncle D.” He leaves behind his two aunts MaryAnn Garcia and Constance Peppers and his three uncles Cory Peppers, Erasmo Renteria and Antonio Renteria,
God Mom Denise Garcia and plenty of cousins who he loved deeply and many great aunts and uncles that meant so much to him and friends.

His love, loyalty, and strength will continue to live on through us all. Though his time here was short, Deven lived a life full of purpose, passion, and love. He reminded us to chase our dreams, protect our people, and never stop believing in ourselves. His light will never dim, because he lives on in every beat, every memory, and every life he touched.
Rest in peace Deven; your legacy is forever and will be carried on through your music and our memories . We love you and will miss you dearly.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 6th, 2025 at 1 pm at St. James Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
