Danny Mayes, 32, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Danny Mayes was born on December 30, 1990, toRachel Horton and Danny Mayes, Sr. Danny was a loveable brother, uncle, and nephew. God always saves the best for last ask a mother, I really don’t know what words that I can use to say I’m so hurt and broken. Danny is preceded by grandmothers, DottieJohnson; stepdad, Elroy Kendrid; grandmother, Rosis Lee Williams; and Aunt Tomika Horton. Danny leaves to cherish his memory; hisfather, Danny Mayes, Sr.; his mother, Rachel Horton; his girlfriend, ShondaRomo; his brothers, Roy Brown, Roderick Horton, Erick Kendrid, Ja’Marcus Mayes,and Rodney Horton; one sister, Shakira Mayes; four aunts, Chandra Horton,Lyndra Horton, Denae Jones, and Blanche Mitchell; three uncles, Ira Horton,Marcus Horton, Lawrence Washington; a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.
