Cleothia LaVerne Washington-Carr, 59, departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Cleothia LaVerne was born on June 29, 1963, to the parentage of Charles Sr and Bennie Washington. She married her friend and partner, Frank G, Carr, Jr on May 19, 2012. She attended Lubbock Public Schools, Parkway, Alderson, and Estacado High Schools. She attended South Plains College for nursing. She accepted her Lord and Savior at an early age. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Windmill Hospital, Windmill Nursing Home, and Church’s Chicken. She was lovingly known as Mrs. Cleo or Momma. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving parents, Charles and Bennie Washington; husband, Frank Carr, Jr.; one daughter, La Shayla, two sons, Jawaan and La Karl; a special daughter, Destiny Romo and bonus daughter, LaWanda; four brothers, Charles, Jr (Annie), Ray, Robert (Denise), and Leon (Temesiah); grandchildren, Za’Kyria, Zytanique, Ja Marcus, and Jawaan; a very special friend/sister, Zina Daniels; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
