Carrie Nell Richard Toler, 80, departed this life on Saturday, November 4th, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Carrie Johnson was born on December 8th, 1942, to Odell, Sr. and Mae Ollie Johnson in Longview, TX. She moved to Lamesa, TX at an early age. She graduated from Blackshear High School in 1960. She met and married James Richard and to this union four children were born. Later, she married Sammie Toler and to this union one child was born. She attended Lubbock School of Nursing and attained her RN license. She was employed by MHMR Billy Meek Center for years. In later years, she worked at PYCO Cotton gin until she retired. She is preceded in death by her father, Odell Johnson, Sr.; her mother, Mae Ollie Johnson; sister, Estelle Ayers; brothers, Willie Earl Johnson, Odell Johnson, Jr., Mack Johnson, and Charles Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Glenda Richard of Arlington, TX and Courtney Richard (Bruce) of Colorado Springs, CO; four sons, Ronnie Toler (Debra), Frenchelle Richard (Malquisha), Kenneth Richard, Sr., and Terrance Richard (Darlita) all of Lubbock, TX; her sister, Doris Skief of Lubbock, TX; two aunts, Johnie Williams of Kermit, TX and Deloirs Thirkill of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Tomeka Walker, Jamal Richard, Malinda Richard, Kendrick Richard Boyd, Benjamin Wilson, Jr., Tishiana Hopes, Lance Rogers, LaTisha Richard, Tyrell Richard, Ka'Shaylon Richard, Karhl Frater, Kenneth Richard, Jr., Marcus Richard, Cheyenne King, Jammie Richard, and Kiara Fillmore; a host of other relatives and friends.
