Carol Ann Griffin

Carol Ann Griffin, 79, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Divine Love Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Carol was born to Lovie Mae and Adel Washington on February 23, 1944, in Waco, TX. She was the third child out of four children. She was a cook at Reese Air Force Base. She was a caregiver. She loved to sew and do crafts and be around her sisters, family, and friends. She completed the 12th grade. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adel Washington and Lovie Glenn; grandmother, Mae Ella Glenn; and sister, Jane Washington. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Elbert Griffin, Jr.; children, Eugene Griffin, Elaine Griffin, Robert Earl Griffin, and Michael L. Cleveland; grandchildren, Judi Webster, Kayla Lowe (Eligha), James Griffin, Kevin Griffin, Meagan Shrimpton, Darrian Shrimpton, Alisha Griffin, and Trevin Shemar Griffin; two sisters, Dorothy DeGrate and Marie Reeves; a host of great grandchildren, Aisah Webster, Taylor Griffin, Kaiden Griffin, Ki’riana Griffin, Kheelan Griffin, Eligha Lowe, Jr., Kabrielle Lowe, Trolyanna Lowe, Miyanna Childress, Noah Cleveland, Trinity Cleveland, and Trista Cleveland; a host of other relatives and friends.
