Bobbie Joyce Bogus, 74, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11am at True Worshippers. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Bobbie was born on March 26, 1950, in Lubbock, TX to the parentage of Bennie Hicks and Johnnie Hicks. Bobbie was the 2nd eldest of 9 children. Bobbie married the love of her life Edward Bogus. They were married for 52 loving wonderful years.
Bobbie received her cosmetology license at an early age. Bobbie loved to do hair and make people look beautiful and feel good about themselves. Bobbie worked until she couldn’t work anymore. Bobbie loved to cook and she made the best chicken and dressing. Bobbie loved to watch her Kansas City Chiefs, she would always say “Patrick Mahomes is my boy.” Bobbie loved to sing and listen to gospel songs, her favorite gospel song was, “I won’t complain.”
Bobbie will forever be missed, we will miss that beautiful smile, warm heart, and the loving person she was.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband Edward Bogus, her brother Glenn, and her parents Bennie and Johnnie Hicks.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory, her children Deborah (Johnny), Keith (Dawn), and Angela (Jerrod), her siblings Melvin (Fannie), Ferrion (Pearl), Bennit (Rita), Claudette, Teresa Mae, and DeWayne, her grandchildren Byron Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Brittany, Keasia, Shaquille Bogus, Dai’Tron Holloman, and Shekinah, her eight great grandchildren, her close friend Betty, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
