Billy "Bill Bill" Owens

Billy Owens "Bill Bill", 52, passed away on Friday, May 30th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at 11 am at St. John's Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Everyone called him Bill Bill. He loved people and would give you the shirt off his back. He wanted you to be happy. When he told you he loved you, he meant it without a doubt. One of his God giving gifts was that he forgave, listened and showed his true emotions. He loved his wife, kids, and family dearly. He called himself “Chef Boy ya Bill!! If you needed to know how to cook anything, all you had to do was call him. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys, you couldn’t say anything about that team. If you ever had a conversation with him, he would end it with “I love you “ because he truly did. Bill Bill was truly a humble person and someone that always believed in you.

Bill Bill could have you laughing on your worst day. Know that his love will forever continue to be in your hearts.

On the evening of May 30th, 2025, the Lord said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” He is no longer suffering.

He is preceded in death by his father Billy Wayne Owens, Sr., his mother Sharon Ward , his Aunt Brenda Ward, and his grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Tammy Owens of Lubbock, TX, his children LaSharon Owens, Keyishia Owens, Lil Billy Wayne Owens, III all of Lubbock, TX, Tyrail Owens of Grand Prairie, TX, and Balaezshae Owens of Ft. Worth, TX, two god daughters Charmain Rutledge of Ft. Worth, TX and Paisley Henry of Ft. Worth, TX, his sister Susie Wilson, his brothers Courtney Phillips and Carlton Phillips, his grandchildren Serryhia Carson, Jordan Stewart, Ja’lilah Stewart, Ja’Corey Stewart, and Gerenity Owens, and a host of bonus brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
