Billie Jean Lewis-Hicks

Mrs. Billie Jean Lewis-Hicks, 90, departed this life on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Billie Jean Lewis-Hicks was born to the union of Addie Lee Williams and C. J. Dawson, in Corsicana, Texas on May 10th, 1933. She was an only child. Billie accepted Christ at an early age. Billie was a very quiet and loving person. She was a very independent person; she didn’t want anyone catering to her needs if she could do it for herself. She wanted to stay active. Billie was an avid game show lover, she enjoyed Family Feud, and the Price is Right. She played solitaire in between her game shows. She was a very good cook, she worked for a couple of restaurants in Lubbock. Billie also worked for Mr. Fraley for over 50 years doing domestic work. She retired at the age of 89.

Billie has gone to the Upper Room. In life we loved her dearly, as family and friends we will cherish her memory. Though we can’t see you, we know you will always be at our side. Rest in peace Billie. She is preceded in death by her parents, a special companion and friend, Lee Ester Hicks.
