Betty Janice Hasting-Walker

Betty Janice Hastings-Walker, 68, passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2025. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Betty Janice Hastings-Walker was born on April 23, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to the union of Robert and Betty Jo Hastings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Jo Hastings, and a sister, Brenda Gail Hastings.

She is survived by her daughter Vaschelle “Missy” Hastings-Trufant (Rodney), her son Adaryl “Chris” Hastings, two granddaughters, Tatiyana Hastings and Ryan Nicole Trufant, and three grandsons, Gerae Hastings, Rodney Trufant III, and Maxwell Hastings; a sister, Robbie Hastings, and several nephews, nieces and other relatives.

We would like to thank Hospice of the South Plains, especially David Hundaker, RNs Stephanie and Mary, and Chaplain David. Thank you so much for your compassion and support.

We would also like to thank Dr. Kelly Klein, Dr. Philip Hamby and the amazing 4th floor ICU staff, and the incredible nurses and support staff of the Talkington Supportive Unit at UMC/TTHSC.
