Barbara Louise Taylor

Barbara Louise Taylor, 70, departed this life on Saturday, October 10, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 1pm at the Dream Center. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at Griffin Mortuary.  Barbara Louise Taylor was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She lived in Memphis, TX and her mother moved to Lubbock, TX in 1960 where she attended Posey Elementary and Estacado High School, later she worked as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for 30years. She worked Parkway Nursing Home for many years, she also worked at Southern Manor for 5 years and for JJ carwash and later at the Howard Johnson, than West Texas Hospital. Before she became ill and wasn’t able to work leaving her in a wheelchair but that did not stop her. She attended the Dream Center Church and Fountain of Life where she ahd friends she loved dearly but she trusted in God as her illness progressed, her grandkids were her priced and joy, the laughter, she had with them would brighten up a room no matter what. Her spirit will always remain in our hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents Goldie and Mamie Taylor, her son Jimmy Taylor Jr., and her brother John Carl Taylor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Dorothy Taylor and LaToya Hopson, her son Jeffery Taylor, her sisters Doris Cleaver, Sylvia Taylor, and Vanessa Taylor, her brothers Todd Taylor and Robert Taylor, her grandchildren Doronisha Taylor, Anastasha Taylor, LaSkeka Taylor, Marcus Hopson (Aaliya), Devon Hopson, Desyrae Hopson, and Jasmyne Hopson, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
