Barbara Ann Lord

Barbara Ann Lord, age 73, passed away on Monday, February 27th , 2023 surrounded by her Lubbock family.  Barbara was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 30th, 1949. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marywil Lord.  She is survived by her daughters Beverly (Jon) Fisher of Killeen and Laura Walker of Lubbock, five grandchildren, Katelyn (Daniel) Rocha of Conroe, Drew (Wendy) Fisher of McKinney, Grant, Avery, McKenna (Dylan) Walker, of Lubbock, and 3 great grandchildren Asher, Adley, and Maverick of which she adored.

Barbara enjoyed riding horses (Polocrosse), fishing, crocheting, and most of all quilting.  Out of love she made numerous blankets, quilts and crochet items for friends and family.  She loved her animals, the Astros and Diet Coke. Barbara was a Histologist for over 35 years and worked at numerous hospitals throughout Texas.  After retiring in 2015 from Baylor Scott and White, Temple, Texas she moved back to Manvel, Texas to be near close friends which enabled her to enjoy many fishing trips.  Due to health reasons, she moved back to Central Texas in 2019 to be near her oldest daughter and in July 2022 she moved to Lubbock which allowed her precious time with her youngest daughter’s family.  She was a member of 3C Cowboy Church, Salado, Texas.

A private family gathering will be held later this year.
