Angela Yvonne Jones "Shakey"

Angela Yvonne Jones, 51, departed this life on Monday, July 28th, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 11th, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Angela Yvonne Jones, also lovingly known as “Shakey,” was born on July 15th, 1972, and departed July 28th, 2023. Angela was born in Lubbock, TX to Ella Mae Devroe and J. D. Jackson. She grew up with her sister and brother. The three siblings were very bonded and kept their mother on her toes. Shakey went on to attend Lubbock High School. She enjoyed shopping and always kept a closet full of clothes., shoes, and bags with the tags still on them. Even to this present day, Shakey enjoyed giving gifts to her friends and family. That was her way to show her love to them. She was a very kindhearted woman. Shakey went on in life to meet the love of her life, Sam Jones. They brought two beautiful children into his world. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Shakey was employed at Furr’s Cafeteria for many years and Walmart thereafter. She’s known for her sense of humor and ability to get along with anyone. She was an advocate for her friends and family. She would encourage anyone to do the right thing. Shakey and Sam will remain together even through death. They’ve gained their wings and are free to fly. She is preceded in death by her brother, Steven Devroe and son, Trevon Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Sam Jones; mother, Ella Devroe; daughter, Alaysia Jones; son, Cameron Jones; sister, Vanessa Russell; niece, Jasmine Devroe; nephew, Jordan Russell; a host of other relatives and friends.
