Algaree Jones

Algaree Jones, 100, departed this life on Saturday, November 18th, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Matador, TX. Interment will follow at Matador Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Algaree was the first born of 6 children through the union of Lee and Oressia Harris, born March 24, 1923, in Whiteflat, TX.  During her journey in life she met and married Walter Jones in 1942, and through this union 5 children were born.  Her devoted husband preceded her in death on October 6, 1996.

Their children were: Bobby Ann, George Dean, Walter Jr. , Mildred and Evelyn.  Her siblings  who have preceded her in life are:  Herman Sr., Charles, Estelle, Shirley and Lorenzo.
She is survived in life by: Grandchildren:  Mac Cole Jr., LaFonda Hartfield, Great GrandChildren: Ashaley husband (Guy), Rennow, Roshonda Petties, Great Great Grandchildren: Alania, Elliott Rennow. Sister-in-Law: Nellie Maybin and children: Charles Jr. and Angela. Special Nieces and Nephews: Terry Don Hughes, Sandra Hughes and Renae Hughes: A host of other relatives and friends.

Algaree departed this earth in prayers covering her family.  Her prayers were so infectious even the medical staff recognized how strong of a Matriarch she was to her family.  Algaree has earned her heavenly wings and as a family we collectively say… “Job Well Done.”  Rest in Peace. Her favorite scriptures that have and will continue to cover her family is Proverbs: 3:5-8
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him.  And He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eye; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.  It will be health to your flesh.”
