A. D. Beaty, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. A. D. Beaty was the 3rd of 8 children born on October 13, 1943, in Smith County, TX. to the parents of Sammie Beaty, Sr., and Mattie Mae Moore who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Derosa Ladell Beaty, his infant granddaughter, his oldest brother, James Earl Beaty, and youngest brother, Robert Lee Beaty.

He departed this life on May 30, 2026, and is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Joyce Sampson (Sammie Joe, Commerce, TX.; brothers, Ulysses Beaty, Lubbock, TX.; Sammie Beaty, Jr., Vancouver, WA., and sisters, Linda Henderson; Lubbock, TX.; Branetta Cooper (Napoleon) Lubbock, TX.; and Katherine Gregory (Tommy), San Antonio, TX.; and longtime special friend, Yvonne Peoples; 7 nieces, 6 nephews as well as several other relatives and friends who remembered him as "Super Cool" 

A. D. joined Christ at an early age. He attended Dunbar High School in Lubbock, Texas and just recently returned to Lubbock after over 40 plus years. He was most notably remembered as a freelance entertainer. He loved singing and writing his own lyrics to songs and sang with a local group in the early 70's called Unity. 

Scripture: Revelation 14:13"And I heard a voice from heaven saying... Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours" 

On May 30, 2026, A.D. answered the call of the Lord to his eternal rest.
